ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - COSTING
This individual is responsible for both the oversight of and active participation in the budgeting and estimating of project design and construction costs from project inception to post-bid. Duties include: management responsibility of day-to-day administrative and technical operations within the Costing group; maintain costing data and apply construction standards to the capital projects and resolve conflict with regard to planning, scoping and costing of projects under design with Fund staff, outside consultants and the NYS campuses. This position requires the supervision of a staff of estimators with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
An Associate’s degree in a construction related discipline and 15 years experience in costing with at least 5 years in a senior position. A Bachelor’s degree and professional license or certification is preferred. Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules and standards regulating design and construction; effective written and verbal communication skills; effective interpersonal skills; strong technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and the ability to work with and manage other professionals.
