Upgrade Site Electric Distribution
System
SUCF is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the upgrade of the campus site electrical distribution system at SUNY New Paltz. The campus electrical distribution system is well beyond its life expectancy. In order to insure uninterrupted electric service to the entire campus and to provide for adequate power supply to all existing and future buildings, this electrical distribution system requires an overall upgrade and replacement. Services include field survey and documentation of existing distribution system components, analysis of the campus electrical system and coordination with the utility provider in establishing all capacities and requirements, working with the College to determine appropriate future loading requirements and sequencing of construction work, construction phasing and impact analysis, Environmental Assessment per State Environmental Quality Review and other services recommended to provide a complete design for all recommended work. As approved by the client, all or portions of the schematic work will proceed further into design and construction administration, including relocation of the Rte. 32 switchgear/meterin cubicle, feeders for the new science building and other improvements that are affordable within the available construction funds. Submissions should emphasize the design team's significant past experience in site electric system upgrades, in coordinating campus wide utility projects with local utility providers, in constructing such design projects for public institutions and in managing such projects for public and institutional clients in an expeditious manner.
