New Science Building
SUCF is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide programming, design and construction administration services for a new Science building at SUNY New Paltz. The building will house laboratory and general academic spaces as well as office and administrative spaces for department such as Geology, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. Services include designing for a USGBC LEED New Construction Silver Certification, an evlauation of the existing science and technology departmental facilities to determine which are adequate for future science pedagogical methodology and which should be relocated into the new facility, a programming effort to determine the quantity and disposition of the new space needed and its equipment, exploration of innovative applications of technology that will help conserve the earth's resources, design using an integrated team process including the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), construction phasing and impact analysis, Environmental Assessment per State Environmental Quality Review, surveying, air dispersion study, utility capacity analysis, geotechnical anaysis, traffic and parking requirements, special inspections, and other services recommended to provide a complete design. Coordinate with the campus landscape plan, commissioning and construction management services provided by others.

Submissions should emphasize the design team's significant past experience in design of science buildings and providing sustainable and green building design in an innovative and high profile manner, in construction such design projects for public institiutions and in managing such projects for public and institutional clients in an expeditious manner.
